| The Simone Gad Foundation, is pleased to announce a solo exhibition from artist Frank Paletta titled Upside at bG Gallery in Santa Monica. The title Upside speaks of the beauty that can be found in the imperfections of the world and within ourselves. “If you look past imperfection, what you may find is magic”. The artist evolves his perspective from his first solo exhibition four years ago, Radical Acceptance, to one of deeper optimism and light. This higher vibration is expressed through Paletta’s sensitive coarseness of marks, shapes, textures in paintings like Shempa Storm, Don’t Bite the Hook. Dense atmospheres of rich colors leading around and through inner and outer space in Soul Reunion and Maitri. |

A survivor of a near-death mountain climbing accident at the age of 19, Paletta has overcome paraplegia and constant pain to make art, teach and be of service to his community. His new body of work encompasses a philosophical growth, energetic layerings of expressive colors alluding to figurations and landscapes, with poetic moments of pause across the spatial planes of canvases. Join the artist for the opening reception on Saturday, September 14th from 6 to 9pm Frank Paletta aims to gain a new studio to teach others to paint from the proceeds of this exhibition. |
